What do shoppers see when they check out in my store?
The checkout steps, required fields, guest versus account checkout, how the delivery charge is worked out, and which payment methods shoppers can use today.
In this article
When a shopper checks out in your store, they reach the same checkout page whatever your theme. Knowing it helps you answer customers' questions and understand why an order didn't go through.
The checkout steps
The page shows 3 stages at the top: "Cart" → "Shipping" → "Payment". If every item in the cart is digital (no delivery), the shipping stage is skipped.
The fields shoppers fill in
| Field | Required? |
|---|---|
| "Contact name" | Yes |
| "Email" | Yes — it must be a real email, since the order confirmation is sent there. |
| "Phone" | Yes |
| "Shipping area" | Yes, when local delivery is switched on in your store. |
| "Address" (with a "My location" button that fills it from the current location) | Yes |
| "Building / apartment" | Yes |
| "Landmark" | Optional |
| "Notes for the seller" | Optional — shown to you on the order page. |
If the mobile number isn't valid, the shopper sees: "Invalid mobile number — it must start with 010, 011, 012 or 015 and be 11 digits."
Guest or account?
- Shoppers can order without creating an account.
- Below the fields there's a "Create an account with the info above" option. If they tick it and choose a password, an account is created in your store and they're signed in with the order.
- If that email already has an account in your store, the order goes through as a guest order; it's better for the shopper to sign in first so the order appears in their account.
Order summary and delivery
At the side of the page (or at the bottom on mobile) is the order summary: "Have a promo code?" for coupons, "Subtotal", "Discount" if any, "Delivery" and "Total".
- When local delivery is on, the "Delivery" charge is the price of the area the shopper picks in "Shipping area".
- If you set a free-shipping minimum and the order reaches it, delivery is free.
- When local delivery is off, no delivery charge is added.
Payment methods shoppers can use
| Method | Notes |
|---|---|
| "Cash on delivery" | The shopper pays the courier. The order stays "Unpaid" until you ship it or record the payment. |
| "Wallet" | For signed-in customers whose wallet balance in your store covers the whole total. Guests see "Sign in to pay using your wallet balance." |
| Online payment and manual transfer | Currently switched off for shoppers by platform policy, even if you've connected a payment-gateway account in your dashboard. |
If no payment method is active in your store, shoppers see "No payment methods available" and can't continue.
Free orders: if the total drops to zero (for example with a 100% coupon), the shopper sees "Order is free" and confirms without paying.
After "Confirm order"
The shopper lands on a success page with the order number and a "Track your order" button, and receives a confirmation email with the tracking link. The order appears in your Orders page right away — see notifications and emails for each order.
