When does an order count as "Paid"?
It depends on the payment method: COD becomes paid when you ship or record the payment, the wallet is paid instantly, and Paymob/Kashier only when the gateway confirms payment.

Every order has a payment status on its page: "Unpaid", "Paid" or "Refunded". It is separate from the order's own status (confirmed, shipped and so on), and it changes differently depending on how the shopper paid.
By payment method

| Manual payment | "Unpaid" | When you confirm the receipt or ship the order. (Manual payment is currently paused by the platform.) |
Important: Paymob and Kashier orders are not marked paid just because you move them to Shipped or Delivered, and you can't mark them paid by hand — "Record Payment" isn't shown for them. Online payments are confirmed only by the gateway.
Unpaid Kashier orders
If a shopper opens the Kashier page but doesn't finish paying, the order stays in your list as "Unpaid" and its items stay reserved from stock until you cancel it yourself. Check these orders from time to time.
Cancellations and refunds
- If you cancel a paid order from a customer registered in your store, the amount goes back as credit in their store wallet and the order becomes "Refunded". See the customer wallet.
- If the paid order came from a guest without an account, it is marked "Refunded" but no money moves. You return the money yourself.
- If the order is "Unpaid", nothing is refunded.
Note: A refund you make inside the Paymob dashboard is not picked up by Elmatajer; the order stays "Paid" in your store. Keep a note of it yourself.
