How do I copy an existing product and edit it?

From the product list or edit page, “Copy product” makes a hidden copy with the same details for you to edit and publish; the original stays as it is.

If a new product is like one you already have, copy it instead of typing everything again.

Steps

  1. In Products open the ⋮ menu next to the product and choose Copy product (or click Copy at the top of the product's edit page).
  2. If the product has photos you'll see Copy the photos too — tick it to reuse them.
  3. Click Copy and edit.
  4. The copy's edit page opens: change the name, price and photos, switch on Product is available for customers and Save changes.

What is copied?

  • Description, price, category, brands, sizes and colours (variants) and extras.
  • Photos — if you ticked Copy the photos too.

What's different on the copy?

  • It's named “… (copy)” with a new link and SKU.
  • It's hidden until you review and show it, with quantity 1.
  • No views or reviews, and its SEO fields start empty.

Note: the original product doesn't change at all. From the edit page, the last saved version is copied — save your edits first if you want them in the copy.
