The Currency & orders tab in Store Settings holds your store's commercial settings. This article explains each one and tells you honestly what currently affects your store and what doesn't.

Store currency

Your store starts in Egyptian pounds. The Currency Symbol field fills in automatically from the currency you choose.

Your store runs on your country's currency. Every price and order uses it, and it isn't changed from settings.

Order settings

Order Number Prefix

The letters shown before every order number (for example ORD or SHOP). Use English letters only. If you enter a value that isn't accepted, your old prefix is kept.

Order Number Start

The number your order numbering starts from. This field only appears before you receive your first order ("Choose carefully — cannot be changed once you receive your first order"). You also can't set it lower than the current number — you'll get an error, so order numbers never repeat.

Online ordering

Two options: On and Off. When you choose Off, the other order settings are hidden on the page.

Currently: choosing Off does not stop orders from being placed on your store's checkout page. If you need to pause selling, hide the products you don't want to sell from your product list with the Hide from store button.

Customer accounts and Require login to checkout

  • Customer accounts: "No — allow guest checkout" or "Yes — enable customer accounts".
  • If you choose Yes, Require login to checkout appears: "No — guests can still check out" or "Yes — login required before checkout".

Currently: your store's checkout accepts guest orders without signing in, even when "Require login to checkout" is set to Yes. Customers can always create an account during checkout if they want to.

Can I close my store temporarily (maintenance mode)?

Maintenance mode isn't available to merchants in the dashboard. If you need to stop selling for a while, the practical option is to hide your products from Products and keep updating the orders that come in. If you need the whole store closed, contact us.

After any change, click Save in the bar at the bottom of the page.
