What do the domain statuses mean (Pending, Activating, Active)?

"Verified" means your DNS is right, but a domain only becomes "Active" once we confirm your store really opens on it with SSL. This table explains every status.

On the My Domains page (menu: Domains → My Domains), each domain has a badge showing where it is in the connection journey. The key thing to know is that connected isn't the same as live: a domain's DNS can be correct while it isn't yet your store's address.

What each status means

StatusMeaningWhat you do
PendingWe can't see the domain pointing to us yet.Make sure you changed the nameservers (or added the record) and wait for it to spread. You can click Check.
DNS InvalidThe domain points somewhere other than the platform.Review the values at your domain company and correct them.
Verified — activatingDNS is correct; we're issuing SSL and confirming your store opens on the domain.Nothing — usually 1–15 minutes. Your store keeps working on its current link meanwhile.
ActiveThe domain is live and is your store's current address (marked with a star).Nothing.
ConnectedThe domain is verified but isn't the store's active address.Click the Activate icon next to it if you want it to be your store's address.

The numbers at the top

  • Total domains: domains registered for your store (one at most).
  • Active: 1 if the domain is really live on your store.
  • Pending: a domain still being verified.
  • Issues: a domain whose status is DNS Invalid.

The buttons next to a domain

  • Check: checks DNS right now (shown while you're waiting for verification).
  • Edit: opens the domain page to see the required values or change the domain.
  • The delete icon: removes the domain. See How do I change or remove my custom domain?

Check messages

  • «لم يتم التحقق من DNS. قد يستغرق التحديث من 1 إلى 48 ساعة.» (DNS not verified yet; updates can take 1–48 hours): the change hasn't spread yet. If you also see "Currently resolves to" and "expected", compare the two values to spot the mistake.
  • «تعذّر فحص الـ DNS مؤقتًا — سنعيد المحاولة تلقائيًا خلال دقائق.» (Could not check DNS right now — we will retry automatically in a few minutes): a temporary problem on our side — nothing to do.
  • "Activation is taking longer than usual": shown when activation takes longer than normal. Make sure the old nameservers were removed; the platform keeps retrying automatically.

Tip: while a domain is "Verified — activating", its page refreshes itself every little while, so you don't need to keep reloading it.
