The delivery fee shows 0 or my areas don't appear. What do I do?
The usual causes: local delivery is off, every area is paused, the order reached free shipping, or the area fee is 0. Here's how to find the cause and fix it.
In this article
If a shopper says delivery came out free when you expected a fee, or they can't find their area at checkout, go through these causes in order. All of them are fixed from "Shipping" → "Local Delivery".
1. Local delivery is off
How to tell: the "Delivery settings" card shows "Off", and you may see a notice that your areas won't appear at checkout.
Fix: switch on "Enable local delivery" and click "Save settings".
2. No area is available
How to tell: the "Active" count at the top is zero, or every area says "Temporarily paused". If local delivery is on, a warning also says no area is available.
Fix: flip the "Status" switch on the areas you want until they're "Available to customers", or click "Add area".
3. The order reached free shipping
How to tell: there's an amount in "Min. order amount for free shipping", and the order's products total (before discount) is equal to or above it.
Fix: this is working as intended. If you don't want free shipping, clear the field and save.
4. The area's fee is 0
How to tell: in the "Delivery Areas" table, the fee next to the area is zero.
Fix: click "Edit" on the area, enter the amount in "Fee" and click "Save".
5. The order is all digital products
Digital orders have no shipping step and no delivery fee. That's normal.
6. The shopper's area isn't in the list
The list only shows the areas you've added. If the shopper is in an area you haven't added, add it with its fee. If it exists but is paused, enable it.
Tip: After any change, open your store and place a test order up to the shipping step to check that "Shipping area" appears and the fee is right.
