Shipping companies for online stores in Egypt: how to choose and connect one
A practical comparison of delivery options for stores in Egypt: your own courier, local delivery, or a carrier such as Bosta, Aramex, Mylerz or ShipBlu — and how to price shipping and cut returns.
In this article
Short answer: you have three ways to deliver orders in Egypt: deliver yourself or with a courier in your area, use a shipping company that covers every governorate and collects cash on delivery, or combine both. On Elmatajer you set your own delivery areas and fees, and you can connect your own account at Bosta, Aramex, Mylerz or ShipBlu and create shipments straight from the order page.
Carriers you can connect
| Carrier | What you need |
|---|---|
| Bosta | An API key from the Bosta dashboard |
| Aramex | API account details from Aramex |
| Mylerz | API username and password from your account manager |
| ShipBlu | An API key from the ShipBlu dashboard |
Once connected, you send any order to the carrier from the order page; the tracking number is saved and the status updates on its own. The carrier bills you directly. See connecting a carrier.
How to choose a carrier
- Coverage of the governorates your customers are in.
- Price for your top three governorates.
- Cash-collection fees and how fast collected cash reaches you.
- Charges for refused deliveries.
- Pickup from your location, tracking and responsive support.
Setting delivery fees in your store
Add your delivery areas and their fees under «Local delivery» (steps), and turn on free shipping above an amount. Customers see the fee for their area before they confirm.
FAQ
Can I connect more than one carrier?
Yes — you choose the carrier per order.
Is Egypt Post available?
Not as an integration, since it has no electronic API. You can use it manually and set the fee yourself.
