Your store language is the language visitors see on your storefront. Arabic displays right-to-left; English displays left-to-right.

The options

OptionMeaning
Arabic onlyThe whole store is in Arabic.
English onlyThe whole store is in English.
Multi-languageCustomers switch language with a button in the store. Needs the multi-language feature.

How do I change it?

  1. Go to Store Settings → the Storefront design tab.
  2. In the Storefront Language card, pick the option you want.
  3. Click Save.

The multi-language feature

If you see a lock and the word Upgrade next to Multi-language, your plan doesn't include it. Click Upgrade to see the plans. If you select it without the feature, the choice isn't saved and your previous setting stays.

Note: Arabic only and English only are available to every store, and you can switch between them at any time — the change applies to your store as soon as you save. Only Multi-language (shoppers choose their language) needs the feature.

Editing texts in each language

In the theme editor, the EN / AR button in the top bar switches the language you're editing. Texts (headings, descriptions, menu link labels) are stored separately per language, while colours, switches and choices are shared. If you change your store language or make it multi-language, check your theme texts in the new language.

Common questions

Are my products translated automatically?

No. The built-in translation covers the fixed parts of the storefront (buttons and headings). Your product names and descriptions show exactly as you wrote them.

Is the dashboard language the same as the store language?

No. You change the dashboard language with the language button in the top bar; it has nothing to do with your store's language. See The dashboard or my store shows the wrong language.

Where is light and dark mode?

In the same tab, in the Color Mode card. See How do I change my store colours and light or dark mode?
